The Boy Scouts of America designates the Sunday that falls on or before February 8 as Scout Sunday. This is the primary date to recognize the contributions of young people and adults to Scouting.
Trinity Episcopal Church sponsors two Boy Scout units: Cub Scout Pack 123 and Boy Scout Troop 36.
On Sunday, February 8, 2015, these scouts and leaders will hold a joint Scout Sunday to publicly honor their pledge to "Do my duty to God..."
Scout Sunday is also an opportunity to thank the members of Trinity Episcopal Church for their support of Scouting.
During the 11:00 A.M. worship service, scouts and scout leaders in uniform will serve as acolytes, ushers and lectors.
A brief awards ceremony will also be held to recognize Scout leaders who provide thousands of hours each year being mentors to boys.
This will be the first time that Trinity Church has presented the prestigious St. George Award.
As a treat, the cub scouts and boy scouts will provide baked goods for the coffee hour after the 11:00 service.
